WATER is the life blood of any mining operation. With the increasing pressure on mine operators to demonstrate responsible and sustainable water management practices, analysis and decision-making tools are becoming increasingly valuable. HydroGeoLogica understands these pressures and is able to develop robust water and chemical modelling tools that focus on the key site-specific issues.

Water balances and water chemistry modeling serve as the core tools in simulating water movement, water storage and water quality around the mine and in the surrounding drainage basin(s).

Water storage, flow, and chemistry predictions inform facility designs and decision making to optimize development and operations, and to address closure issues. We develop and customize water and chemical balance tools to meet our clients’ needs using the GoldSim platform.  By developing model-specific coding, GoldSim and PHREEQC can be coupled to simulate site-specific water flow and reactive geochemistry.
